KIDS CREATIVE RHYTHM & MOVEMENT (CRM) is designed for the very young dancer to explore dance through creative movement activities. Here the dancers will be introduced to basic movement skills to enhance coordination, explore levels in space, and further their creative exploration through innovative songs and dance. (Ages 2yr-3yr)
COMBO Iclasses are designed to prepare young dancers for Combo II and other upper level classes. This class introduces the structure and setting of a dance class by teaching the basic movements and vocabulary for ballet and tap. (Age 3)
COMBO IIis designed to further the dancer's vocabulary and movement skills in ballet and tap. Students in this class will combine the basic movements previously learned in Combo I into movement combinations. They will also be prepared for upper level class structures. (Age 4)
BALLET is a classical and technical dance form. This class addresses the formal and classic vocabulary and movement that is the foundation for all existing dance forms.
PRE POINTE/POINTEis designed for the intermediate/advanced dancer to take their ballet concentration to the next level. This is an invite only class.
JAZZ/CONTEMPORARYdance is characterized by its versatility: contemporary can be danced to almost any style of music, or united with other dance forms to create new styles of movement. The ease of movement promoted by contemporary dance technique allows experienced dancers to push new boundaries of body movement.
JAZZ classes combine the basic techniques of ballet with the more modern steps found in Pop and Broadway, Jazz is an upbeat, stylish, and versatile dance form. Jazz classes include intensive strengthening warm ups, stretching techniques to elongate and encourage muscle strength, across the floor movements, leaps, turns and center combination work to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
MODERNclass allows students to learn the fundamentals of modern dance technique. Basic anatomy will be introduced as well as the study of the muscles and their movements to gain a higher kinesthetic awareness. Focus will be on connection to the ground, shifting of weight, catch & release, sequencing the body so it moves as a whole, spacial awareness, and musicality. Improvisation and composition will be introduced.
IMPROVISATIONis the process of spontaneously creating movement. Development of improvised movement material is facilitated through a variety of creative explorations including body mapping through levels, shapes and dynamics.
TAP is a dance form where the dancer focuses on rhythm execution of the feet.
HIP HOP is a structured form of street dance often found in music videos. It is designated to teach strength, endurance, agility, and coordination. This is a fun, high, energy class!
DRILL TEAM /KICK is a technical class that has a jazz foundation. This class is geared towards students who aspire to be on drill team. It emphasizes precision, strength, flexibility, and placement.
LEAPS & TURNS class utilizes strengthening exercises and proper technique in order to polish stationary turns and combinations across the floor, as well as, improve a variety of leaps & jumps.
STRETCH/CONDITION is a class designed to improve the overall flexibility and strength of dancers of all levels.
